About

Welcome brothers - I'm so glad you're here.

Firstly, welcome to the Men's Yoga Canberra community. I feel very fortunate to be the current custodian of this beautiful community. What is now known as 'Men's Yoga Canberra' has evolved through the years, starting with it's conception in 2007 when Kevan Gregory began the Nude Men's Yoga classes here in Canberra. The community was then loved and nurtured by Andreas from Andreas Embodiment from 2020 - 2025, which is when I've picked up the community to continue its legacy and the sacred space that it has become for so many men in the Canberra region.  With that being said, welcome to the next iteration of this men's yoga community that keeps it's powerful roots in the freedom of nudity, but which opens the doors to new self-discovery and personal development offerings for the men of Canberra.

My personal yoga practice was born from my own personal journey of wanting to feel more at home in my body, more at peace in my mind, and more connected in my spirit. After years of attending mainstream yoga classes, I found myself longing for something different - a space specifically for men, where we could move, breath, and show up fully as ourselves, without judgement. That led me to joining Andreas in what was formerly knows as 'Nude Men's Yoga Canberra' as one of the nude yoga instructors. After experiencing the freedom and confidence to be in my own skin, I knew that when Andreas was leaving for greener pastures that I wanted to support the community to continue.

Men's Yoga Canberra is now offering both clothed and nude men's yoga classes that invite you into a safe, inclusive and non-sexualised environment where vulnerability is welcomed and strength is redefined. These classes are for every man, regardless of age, experience, body type or background. Whether you're here to stretch, breathe, build strength, or simply be still for a moment, you're welcome.

Our nude classes provide a unique opportunity to explore self-acceptance and body neutrality in a supported, mindful setting. Many of us carry subconscious shame or disconnection from our bodies - and stepping into a space of shared vulnerability can be deeply healing. All of our offerings are grounded in the intention to help men reconnect with their bodies, release stress, and grow spiritually within a like-minded community.

At the heart of this work is a desire to see more men engaging in practices that support their mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. In a world that often expects us to go it alone, these classes offer a powerful alternative - a community of men walking the path together.

You don't need to be flexible, fit, or experienced. You just need to show up - as you are.

Vision

I envision a world where all men feel safe to be in their bodies, connected to their emotions, and feel like they belong to community. Through yoga and vedic mindfulness practices, I aim to contribute to a cultural shift where vulnerability is strength, self-care is valued, and men's mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing is nurtured in every community.

FAQs

Do I need to bring anything to class?

Yes, please bring your own yoga mat and towel. If you like to practice with props, including blocks and straps please bring these along with you. We have a few available for use but if you have your own you are very welcome to bring them.

2

Will everyone be nude in the Nude Yoga classes?

Yes, in our nude sessions, all participants - including the instructor - are nude. This shared experience fosters a sense of equality, presence, and comfort in your won skin. Nudity is simply the condition of the class; it is not sexual or performative.

3

Are these classes sexual in any way?

No. All of our classes, including the nude ones, are non-sexualised spaces. Respect, boundaries, and safety are core values of this community. Touching others without consent is not permitted at any time.

4

What if I become aroused during the nude class?

Arousal is a natural body response and nothing to be ashamed of. If it happens, simply stay present and allow the feeling to pass - there's no need to feel embarrassed. Everyone in the space understands that bodies have their own responses, and the environment is one of respect and non-judgement.

5

Do I need to have prior yoga experience?

Not at all. These classses are open to all men of all ages (18+), body types, and experience levels. Whether you're completely new to yoga or have been practising for years, you're welcome here.

6

I feel nervous - what can I expect from the community?

That's completely normal, especially for your first class. This is a welcoming and supportive space where everyone is treated with respect and kindness. Many people come for the yoga and stay for the sense of connection and community. You're encouraged to go at your own pace and just be yourself.
